Marysville girl chosen for D.C. summer leadership conference

Delaney Goetz, a Marysville resident and a middle school student at Immaculate Conception School in Everett, has been selected to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C., this summer.

Delaney was nominated by her seventh grade teacher, Annemarie Weber. Weber wrote that Delaney is “an outstanding individual who has achieved academic excellence and possesses strong leadership potential.”

Delaney has been a competitive cheerleader for the past 4 years and hopes to add the crew team to her extracurricular activities next year. In addition, she was a member of the Snohomish Camp Fire Council for six years.

The conference, which began June 15 and runs for six days, offers middle schoolers an opportunity to learn about the rich tradition of leadership throughout American history while helping them develop their own leadership skills.

Delaney’s experience was supported by contributions from local businesses including Bourne Orthodontics and Dr. Kim Kron among others.
