Competitive cheerleading programs merge

Washington Cheer Academy and Cheerstarz All Star Cheerleading have agreed to merge their competitive programs, creating one of the largest all-star cheerleading organizations in the state of Washington.

The competitive cheerleading program will compete under the name Washington Cheer Academy and is expected to field teams with more than 200 youth members. WCA is made up of both boys’ and girls’ cheer teams between the ages of four and 18. Teams from both clubs will compete together in the upcoming winter and spring season.

Registration for the summer and fall training season is expected to last until the end of June 2008 in order to create teams for camp and choreography this summer. The gym is located at 15318-39th Avenue NE in Marysville.

The visions and philosophies of these two groups are focused on the mutual goals of skill development and fun. Both clubs have been dedicated to ensuring all kids have the opportunity to participate in cheerleading, and to tailor a program that meets the needs and abilities from the beginning recreational athlete to the most elite skill level.
