Outdoor concerts offer free entertainment

Local music lovers can enjoy free concerts all summer long, with music ranging from classic rock to reggae, jazz and even a Beatles tribute band.

The City of Marysville’s Parks and Recreation Department presents the Sounds of Summer Concert Series, a total of twelve performances, six each at Comeford Park and Jennings Park. The Comeford Park concerts, held in the Sunrise Rotary Pavilion, are scheduled for noon each Thursday, July 10 through August 14. Artists will perform at the Lions Centennial Pavilion in Jennings Park Friday evenings July 11 through August 15, starting at 7 p.m.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the free entertainment. Concessions will be available for sale or pack your own cooler with your favorite food and beverages.

For a complete schedule, visit www.ci.marysville.wa.us or phone (360) 363-8400.

The Outer Court, located at 1519 Third Street in downtown Marysville, is the site of free community jams organized by Chrissie Clementson, owner of the Carabinieri Bar espresso stand.

Each Friday night in July and August, local musicians, dancers and artists will take to the outdoor stage in the parking lot next door to Finders Keepers from 7 to 10 p.m.

In addition to free entertainment, the Outer Court event will feature free art projects for kids. A barbecue dinner of burgers, dogs, hot links and sausages plus fixings is available for $4 for adults and $2 for kids.
