Letter to the Editor

Odor in Marysville

Editor,

Regarding Karen Lamoreux's recent letter to the editor concerning the prevalent stench in the Marysville air: let me just say that "stench" is too kind a word for what we citiizens have been tolerating. Many in my neighborhood have been asking the same question as Karen. What is the source of this intolerable permeating odor in our air and  when is it going to be dealt with?

This prevailing sewage-like pall permeates our air and is nothing less than nauseating. In fact, many nights a week windows and doors must be shut to simply make breathing tolerable. I've personally talked to many who say this smell is nauseating and even causes headaches. This is a public health issue that has to be dealt with. It is a degradation to the quality of all our lives.

I would encourage all citizens who read this to call the mayor's office and the city council and other public officials and let them know that this mystery stench cannot be tolerated any longer. Whether it’s coming from the sewage treatment plant or some other source, the people of Marysville should not be subjected to this degraded air quality any longer.
