Look beyond campaign brochures

I filled out most of my ballot and there they are -- the Superior Court Judge candidates. Unlike the elections gone by, it won’t be a clueless decision. I’m ready.

This time it will be different. This time I am prepared. This time I have seen and heard each of the major candidates for Superior Court Judge - Position 6 and I can tell you now that it does make a difference and it is critically essential that we elect the right person. Recent events have shown that political pressure is being used to influence officials that should be performing their functions without any regard to political arm-twisting. Consequently, two of the candidates for this position give me reason to pause.

Of the three candidates, one presented an impressive account of his experiences with such sincerity and just enough humility that you are convinced that he will perform his job with unbiased equality and justice. You will see, as I do, that his past service to our community reveals a set of values that anyone would be proud to call his own. He has not chosen the easy road in order to pad his resume but has done the difficult but desperately needed community work such as being a long-time board member and past president of the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women. He is presently serving on a committee to provide comprehensive services to abused children and is frequently appointed by the court in cases involving minors in need of protection.

There is much more than I can mention here.  Nevertheless, when you compare his pamphlet with the other candidates, just remember that I’ve seen and heard him in person along with the others and the pamphlet doesn’t mean much by itself.  If you get a chance, meet up with each of them, see for yourself and you will know what I mean.
 
And then you will have to agree - How could anyone vote for anyone but Joe Wilson to be our Superior Court Judge?
