Wrong nitro credited in model airplane article
Editor:
Please note that the fuel used in glowhead engines is composed of methanol and nitromethane, NOT "methane and nitroglycerine" as stated in the article (“Model airplanes fly high over Marysville field,” July 31, 2008). Nitromethane is also used in drag racing fuel.
If we tried to power our planes with nitroglycerine, there'd be nothing left to fly with!
