Amateur filmmakers invited to produce conservation ads for PUD
Snohomish County PUD is accepting 30-second video ads promoting energy conservation from the public as part of its Capes on Tape contest.
The customer producing the best ad will be awarded a 22-inch LCD Energy Star television, donated by Judd & Black. Customers’ ads also may be used in connection with the PUD’s new marketing campaign, Be a Conservation Sensation.
The utility invites customers to share their best stories on video about how they’ve practiced energy conservation, whether it involves switching to compact fluorescent light bulbs, purchasing energy-efficient appliances, participating in a PUD conservation program or other innovations. Videographers are encouraged to be creative, using humor and the talents of friends and family members to help tell their story.
The PUD also is collecting customers’ photos along with a short story or tip demonstrating how they’re “conservation sensations.” The first 100 customers participating will receive a free compact fluorescent light for sharing their stories.
The Capes on Tape contest ends August 15, 2008. Complete contest details and rules are available at www.snopud.com/capesontapecontest or by calling the PUD Energy Hotline at 425-783-1700, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
