Lakewood selects new superintendent
In a unanimous decision, the Lakewood School District has appointed Dr. Dennis Haddock as district superintendent. Haddock will replace Larry Francois, who has accepted the position of superintendent in the Northshore School District.
Haddock’s appointment becomes effective July 1.
Dr. Haddock has served for the past three years as assistant superintendent in the Lakewood School District where his primary responsibilities have included human resources, special programs, and student services. Prior to that, he served for three years as Executive Director of Human Resource Services in the Lake Stevens School District.
Haddock has also served as Director of Special Services in the Mukilteo School District, Director of Student Services in the Anacortes School District, and a school psychologist in the Mount Vernon, Mukilteo, and Olympia school districts.
The administrator earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Washington State University, and his doctorate degree in educational leadership and policy studies at the University of Washington. Haddock has worked in public education for 27 years, 20 of those in an administrative capacity.
