The Sound of Silence

I was thrilled to read the article in the North County Outlook regarding the partnership between the New Everett Theatre and the Everett Symphony, thanks in part to a  donation from Ida Mae Schack and family. The generosity of individuals such as these in the community should not go unnoticed. Let's take the Schack family's gesture as a "call to arms" for individuals and companies large and small to support the symphony.

With Christmas shopping opportunities upon us, what an easy to way to fill many needs at once: Give to the Everett Symphony in the name of a friend or relative.

This kind of gesture will not only benefit the Everett Symphony but it will also benefit the aspiring musicians in the area by providing them with a positive role  model, as a place to practice and perform now and in the years to come.  This musical outlet is vitally important to any community.

With so many floundering music programs in the area, there is the potential of a silent void in the future if we are not careful.  The youth of our community need something to aspire to:  the Everett Symphony and beyond.
