North County Outlook is owned by four Snohomish County women: Sue Stevenson, Beckye Randall, Anita Wuellner and Julie Brandt. Two of the partners, Stevenson and Randall, have extensive experience in the newspaper business in sales and editorial capacities. Brandt offers expertise in customer service, sales and marketing, while Wuellner is a business professional with a financial background.
The paper is supported by two additional employees, Melissa Stevenson in advertising sales and Carrie Harris in graphic design, along with several freelance columnists and writers who contribute to the paper's robust content.
Beckye Randall (editor@northcountyoutlook.com)
Publisher, Editor/Writer
Beckye Randall has over 30 years experience in graphic design, journalism, marketing and public relations. The daughter of a printer and newspaper publisher, she has embraced the industry’s steady march into the digital age while valuing the connections made possible through hometown newspapers. She recently received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, the culmination of many years of part-time college enrollment while working. An active member of her community, Beckye was a valuable leader of the Everett Theatre Society during the restoration of the Historic Everett Theatre, and has served on the Board of Directors of several other arts and civic organizations.
Sue Stevenson (sales@northcountyoutlook.com)
Advertising Manager
Sue recently ended a successful 25-year career in advertising sales with the local weekly newspaper, and was in search of new challenges. She loved being “on the street,” helping business owners with their advertising needs and being an active participant in the community. Sue is an expert at building relationships, and is dedicated to providing excellent customer service to our advertising partners. In addition to her work at North County Outlook, Sue is an active member (and current president) of the Marysville Sunrise Rotary organization.
Anita Wuellner (billing@northcountyoutlook.com)
Finance Director, Feature Writer
Anita Wuellner is a business professional with a financial and legal background who helps oversee the company’s accounting activities and is a contributing writer. Anita has been an active volunteer for literacy and teen services. Her keen eye and mastery of grammar are put to good use each issue, as she proofreads the paper carefully before it goes to print.
Julie Brandt (sales@northcountyoutlook.com)
Advertising Sales
Julie is an advertising professional with boundless energy and enthusiasm for her work and her clients. A resident of Tulalip, Julie is committed to helping her customers get the best possible results from their advertising budget. She understands the challenges of owning a business, having owned and managed several successful companies over the years, and enjoys offering practical suggestions to business owners in our area.
Melissa Stevenson (sales@northcountyoutlook.com)
Advertising Sales
Melissa is a former local business owner who enjoys providing great customer service to her advertising clients. Working for a newspaper with a small staff has allowed her to learn the trade effectively while having the support of her co-workers. In addition to handling display advertising sales, Melissa also manages the paper's directory advertising customers.
Carrie Harris (design@northcountyoutlook.com)
Graphic Design
Like all our staff members, Carrie simply walked in our door one morning to apply for a position we didn't know we had. Lucky for us! Carrie is a talented graphic designer, having honed her skills with years of production work at The Herald and other local papers and as a freelance graphic artist. In addition to her impressive design skills, her can-do attitude and friendly personality make her an indispensable member of the team.
