Alternates sought for Arts Commission

The Snohomish County Arts Commission is accepting applications for volunteers to serve as alternate commissioners. County residents who have relevant experience or skills are encouraged to apply. Currently there are four alternate position openings for citizens of District 1, 2, 5 and one “At Large” position.

The Arts Commission serves as a 14-member advisory board to the County Executive and the County Council, ultimately serving the citizens of Snohomish County. The volunteer terms are four years in duration. The Arts Commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at the county campus in downtown Everett.

General responsibilities for members of the Arts Commission include serving as an arts advocate, helping to develop goals for the overall vision for the arts in Snohomish County and generating ideas for public art projects, community outreach, special events, performances, education, fundraising and programs.

Interested applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to the arts in our community, knowledge of arts issues and events in Snohomish County and the surrounding region, and art education or experience.

For more information, contact Wendy Becker, Economic and Cultural Development Officer at (425) 388-3186.
