Saint Heaven soars with gospel tale

Saint HeavenThe Village Theatre presents the mainstage debut of “Saint Heaven,” a passionate tale of courage, faith and coming home, beginning Friday, October 31 at 8 p.m. at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Avenue.

“Saint Heaven” combines spirited gospel, soaring ballads and earthy country music to tell the story of young doctor Thom Rivers, who returns to his hometown in Kentucky in 1957 for his father’s funeral.

The young man intends to settle his father’s affairs and move on, but he’s conflicted about the friends and family he left behind. When he falls for a charismatic young woman with a special spiritual gift, he’s forced to choose between his new life and the old home town that needs him.

“Saint Heaven” continues its Everett run through November 23, with shows Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m., and select Sundays at 7 p.m.
Tickets, at $16-$51 each, are available at the box office or online at www.villagetheatre.org.
