The children's classic "The Phantom Tollbooth," now an acclaimed musical theatre production, will be presented by Village Theatre's Pied Piper Productions at the Everett Civic Auditorium on Sunday, March 8, at 2 p.m.

When a mysterious tollbooth materializes in young Milo's room, he discovers a world of inspiration. With the help of a time-keeping watchdog named Tock, Milo escapes from the Doldrums and embarks on a quest to rescue the princesses of Rhyme and Reason. Along the way, he reunites the dueling kingdoms of words and numbers and realizes that life is more exciting than his wildest dreams.

Based on Norton Juster's modern fairy tale, this inventive musical features a score by Arnold Black with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. Harnick is a three-time Tony Award winner and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, with credits for "Fiddler On The Roof" and "She Loves Me."

Tickets for "The Phantom Tollbooth," which is recommended for children in grades 3-8, are $12 and $14. Phone (425) 257-8600 or purchase tickets online at www.villagetheatre.org. The Everett Civic Auditorium is located at 2415 Colby Avenue.
