Oscar Wilde's Victorian masterpiece, "The Importance of Being Earnest," opens March 6 at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore in Everett, produced by Village Theatre.

Two hapless gentlemen, each hoping to gain favor with two young ladies, create a series of elaborate lies and fake identities, leading to a twisted labyrinth of conflict and hilarity. This tale of high society in Victorian England, often seen in amateur or school productions, will enjoy a professional telling by the Village Theatre's respected company of actors and technicians.

The show runs Wednesdays through Sundays, March 6 through 29, with both evening and matinee performances scheduled. To purchase tickets, call (425) 257-8600 or visit www.villagetheatre.org.
