Start the long holiday weekend with some musical fireworks at the Hometown Hootenanny on Friday, July 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Everett Theatre. This month's live music show celebrates America's birthday with "A Star-Spangled Songfest," an evening of country-style tunes that inspire toe-tapping and flag-waving.
The Hometown Band, led by vocalist Jeremy Randall and featuring local musicians Mark Hibbert, Dave McCabe, Larry Greenleaf and Buck Hammock, will be joined by keyboardist Dave Townsend. The July 2 show also features 13-year-old Dakota Neuman (left), a Monroe crowd-pleaser who already has dozens of public performances on his resumé, and Marysville's Strawberry Festival queen Kaija Wilcox.
The band and guests will perform a list of patriotic tunes that range from standards like "God Bless America" to the more contemporary "An American Soldier" and "Letters from Home."
Advance tickets for the Hometown Hootenanny are priced at $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $5 for kids 12 and under. As a thanks to our nation's protectors, active duty military personnel and veterans can purchase two tickets for the price of one-just $6 each-at the door.
Tickets are available at the theatre box office at 2911 Colby Avenue in downtown Everett during regular box office hours or by calling (425) 258-6766. Admission to the show can also be purchased at the door, beginning one hour prior to showtime. Purchase tickets 24 hours a day online at
