Head to downtown Arlington for a full day of fun on July 4, beginning with a pancake breakfast at Haller Park. The Pedal, Paddle, Puff Triathlon begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Kiwanis auction at noon, also at Haller Park.
The Kiddies Parade heads down Olympic Avenue at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Grand Parade.
Cheer on your favorite rubber ducky at the Stilly Duck Dash, then watch fireworks at Quake Park.
Arlington Street Fair July 9-10
Olympic Avenue is closed for the annual Arlington Street Fair Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10. Enjoy live bands, dance entertainment, contests, shopping, hands-on activities and crafts for the kids. Interesting vendors line the street for enjoyable browsing.
The Dog Parade is set for Friday, July 9, at 6 p.m., followed by the Arlington Idol contest at 7 p.m.
Sultan Shindig July 10
Multi-instrumentalist and award winning songwriter Mary Wiles, who has been hailed by the press as one of the northwest's hottest attractions on the country music scene, will be performing at the Sultan Shindig Saturday, July 10, from 9 to 11 p.m. in the Gazebo at River Park on Main Street in Sultan. There will be fireworks during the performance, beginning at about 10 p.m.
The annual Sultan Shindig, July 10 through 12, celebrates the area's rich logging history and includes a carnival, food and crafts and live entertainment. The logging contest, which includes spar pole climbing and ax throwing, is a popular event, so come early to get best seating. A carnival opens on Friday evening and runs through Sunday.
Fly-In July 7-11
Head to Arlington Airport for days of aviation excitement during the Fly-In. July 7 is Kids' Day, with all children admitted free with an adult.
Airplanes of every shape and size will be on display, on the ground and in the air, throughout the 5 days. The event also features a large military display.
