Heavy metal music. Martial arts. Operatic arias. These three things may not seem to have much in common, but they will come together onstage at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Avenue, on Saturday, July 31, at 7 p.m. in "Aeterno Elementum: Act I."

The performance by ArA'Kus, a symphonic/operatic heavy metal band, promises to be "unlike anything you've ever seen before."

"Aeterno Elementum," according to the press release, tells a sweeping story of betrayal and tragedy that will leave viewers in shock. The story is brought to life by actors, martial artists and dancers, and singers.

The show's original compositions are complex, classically-influenced progressions that feature several operatic vocalists, a full chorus and string section, and heavy metal instrumentation. Soprano Whitney Burdge and tenor Jeremiah Johnson are featured vocalists, and classical guitarist Randy Haines makes an appearance as well.

Tickets for "Aeterno Elementum" are $10 for adults and $9 for students, seniors and military personnel (plus applicable service fees), and are available at the Historic Everett Theatre's box office, (425) 258-6766 or online at www.etix.com.

Some general admission tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the performance.
