One of Frank Sinatra's favorite artists, Frank D'Rone, will appear at the
Historic Everett Theatre, located at 2911 Colby Avenue in downtown Everett, for one night only Tuesday, September 28, at 7:30 p.m.
D'Rone is a Mercury recording artist and contemporary of Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole. His show, in which he is accompanied by Bob Hammer on piano, Larry Holloway on bass and Ray Price on drums, is called "The Great American Songbook."
The world-renown singer is in the area to record a new CD with Phil Kelley.
"Frank D'Rone is one of the few finer singers and performers around and creates great vibes with his audiences," wrote Leonard Feather, one of the world's foremost music critics.
D'Rone's great voice, musicianship and commanding stage presence, along with his ability to master the interpretation of a song lyric, lend themselves to any entertainment atmosphere and make it easy to understand why he became a recurring guest on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and was requested by Frank Sinatra to appear in the lounge whenever "The Chairman" was performing in the showrooms of the Las Vegas and Atlantic City venues.
"Here's a guy who phrases better than me," said Sinatra.
D'Rone's unique gift has taken him before the spotlights of virtually every major nightclub in the United States. The jazz singer and guitarist was headlining the world famous Copacabana when Tony Bennett took over the microphone on opening night and told the audience, "A few years back, Nat 'King' Cole said that Frank D'Rone was the finest singer around. Tonight he has proved that Nat was right!"
General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors/military/students, and $10 each for groups of 6 or more. Tickets may be purchased at the box office or by phone at (425) 258-6766, or at
