Moon Over Buffalo

Local stage favorites Michael McFadden and L. Sam Samano join an ensemble cast in Sky Performing Arts' production of the hilarious "Moon Over Buffalo," playing weekends through Oct. 17 at the Sky Valley Education Center, 17072 Tye Street in Monroe. The show is directed by Eric Lewis.

In the play by Ken Ludwig, George and Charlotte Hay, has-been stage stars of the 1950s, are featured simultaneously in Noel Coward's "Private Lives" and "Cyrano de Bergerac" with five supporting actors in the Buffalo Rep Theater.

At the edge of a disastrous split-up because of George's indiscreet dalliance with a young ingénue, the couple receives word that they may just have one last shot at stardom. Frank Capra is coming to Buffalo to see their matinee. If he likes what he sees, he just might cast them in his movie remake of "The Scarlet Pimpernel."

Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong, does go wrong. The madcap confusion is multiplied by a visit from their daughter's clueless fiancé and Charlotte's deaf, aging mother who hates every bone in George's body.

Sky Performing Arts was founded in 2004 when the board members of Off the Wall Theater and Take a Bough Productions joined together to form a single community theater.

Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $14 for adults and $12 for seniors, students and military personnel. Purchase tickets in advance by phone at (360) 863-1663 or online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
