Americans love road trips, and Red Curtain Productions has planned a musical celebration of some unique destination--and the journey-at the Hometown Hootenanny set for Friday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. in downtown Everett.

Join the Hometown Band as they perform hits that range from classic country ("On the Road Again") to southern rock ("Sweet Home Alabama") and modern-day country ("Crazy Town"). Band members Mark Hibbert, Roger Kehler, Larry Greenleaf, Buck Hammock, Dave McCabe and Jeremy Randall will be joined by master fiddler Jon Parry for this performance.

J.W. McClure Guest artist for the October 8 show is J.W. McClure, a veteran of the folksy '60s coffee houses who combines a throwback musical style, reminiscent of Jimmie Rodgers, with a sharply satiric wit. McClure is a favorite at Tim Noah's Thumbnail Theatre in Snohomish and his most recent collaboration, as a member of Three Damp Duck, was celebrated by fans across the northwest.

Taking the stage as October's showcase artists are locals Lyndon Heart and Karen Knapp.

Heart is an accomplished musician who has contributed to more than 40 recordings and shared stages with performers such as Shania Twain, Brooks & Dunn, Tanya Tucker, and the Average White Band. He'll entertain the audience with two original compositions that complement the "Road Trip" theme.

Knapp is a popular karaoke DJ who manages events at Snohomish's Oxford Tavern and other local venues. A bluesy vocalist with captivating style, Knapp will offer her own takes on "Me and Bobby McGee" and "Route 66," accompanied by the Hometown Band.

Advance tickets for the Hometown Hootenanny are priced at $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $5 for kids 12 and under. A special family package of two adult and two child/student tickets (up to age 18) is available online only at the reduced price of $37.50.

Tickets are available at the theatre box office at 2911 Colby Avenue in downtown Everett during regular hours or by calling (425) 258-6766.
