For its second annual Spring Fling gala, the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra turns to the bright lights of Broadway for an evening of music, gourmet dinner and dancing.

The event is set for Saturday, April 16, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Everett Events Center Ballroom.

The Everett Philharmonic Orchestra formed last year after financial troubles led the Everett Symphony to temporarily cease operations. The Symphony's longtime conductor Dr. Paul-Elliott Cobbs and many local symphonic musicians, determined to continue offering a quality music program for local audiences, formed the Philharmonic Orchestra, and they haven't looked back since.

"This inspired orchestra has thrilled audiences throughout their first season with an unprecedented excitement, and this event will be no exception," assured operations manager Cami Davis.

The April 16 event will begin with a champagne reception and no-host bar accompanied by The Curators, a jazz combo. An Everett Philharmonic mini-concert will follow, featuring Gail Neil, a renowned soprano who has performed with symphony, opera and choral companies throughout the west coast.

The orchestra will perform an array of tunes including selections from "Phantom of the Opera," "West Side Story," "A Little Night Music" and more.

Following the gourmet dinner, The Curators will reconvene and invite guests to the dance floor.

Tickets are priced at $60 each ($70 each after April 8), including concert, dinner and dancing. Last year's event was a sellout, so organizers are encouraging supporters to buy tickets early. Tickets are available online at www.everettphil.org or by phone at (206) 270-9729.
