M.O.M festival organizers held a kickoff concert Friday, Aug. 12, at Tay T's in Marysville.

Founded by recent Marysville Getchell High School graduate Adam Bagley, the M.O.M. Festival, which stands for Musicians of Marysville, will be an all-day youth arts celebration set for Aug. 20 at the Marysville Boys and Girls Club.

Kickoff concert performers included students and recent graduates from Marysville's high schools. Mike Jones played original songs and covers with a Hawaiian flare. Jessica Hodgson played Beatles covers, along with James Berkley, a member of the band Right Your Wrongs.

Jennifer Taylor, owner of Tay T's in Marysville, said she got involved because she wanted to let kids of Marysville know that music and culture is available in their town.
