Local artists on display at Marysville library
Works by local visual artists who are members of Round Robin Artists is now on display in two locations inside the Marysville Public Library, 6120 Grove Street.
Sheila Harrington Stump’s collage display representing “My Trip To China” will be featured in the new case on the south wall of the library August 1 through September 30.
In June and July, a selection of artist Janet Meyer’s paintings depicting her American Indian heritage were showcased in the library’s lobby. Future displays will include Japanese-inspired works and a special event featuring miniature art.
The Round Robin Artists are mostly painters working in a variety of media including watercolor, oil and acrylic, along with at least one photographer. Many members are also part of the Greater Marysville Artists’ Guild, and the two groups are planning a joint day of painting “Plein Air” at the Lavender Hills Farm on Friday, August 22 beginning at 10 a.m.
Lavender Hills Farm is located at 7508-108th Street in Marysville. Original paintings and prints will be offered for sale during the special event. Visitors are invited to witness the creative process as the artists paint on the scene.
