The Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts is hosting an informal artists' networking event Tuesday, August 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby in downtown Everett. The event, an offshoot of the Snohomish County Artists page on Facebook, will welcome Wendy Becker, the county's cultural development director, as the keynote speaker.

The Board of Directors for the newly-formed Red Curtain Foundation, an arts education nonprofit organization, is hoping to establish partnerships with other nonprofit groups and individual artists in the community, and to facilitate countywide arts cooperation.

"We really need to work together to support all the arts in our community," said RCF president Scott Randall. "By cooperating in scheduling, cross-promotions and other innovative resource-sharing, nonprofits can continue to provide creative outlets and services, even with dwindling contributions."

Appetizers and refreshments will be provided by RCF. Admission is free.
