UPDATE: Jan. 6, 1 a.m.
The 17-year-old male shooting victim succumbed to his wounds while in surgery at the Providence Medical Center in Everett. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will now be assisting with the Homicide Investigation.
Detectives are asking for the public’s help in piecing together the events prior to and immediately after the shooting. If anyone with home surveillance cameras located in the adjacent neighborhoods located to the north and south of Marysville-Pilchuck High School could check their video footage. If so, please look for any suspicious activity between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on the evening of Jan. 5. More specifically, any activity involving male subjects walking or running in the area. Please contact the Marysville Police and provide the information if any activity is located. Your piece of information could help complete the puzzle. Thank you.

At 8:48p.m., Jan. 5, Marysville Police responded to a report of gunshots in the 5800 block of 116th St. NE. While in route, another call came in advising that a subject had been shot, possibly with a BB gun.
When officers arrived, they located a male 17-year-old Marysville citizen suffering from a single gunshot wound to the stomach area. The male victim was transported to the Providence Medical Center in Everett and rushed into surgery.
Detectives are currently working the investigation into this shooting.
Early indications from the investigation indicate this is not a random shooting, and the suspect is known to the victim.
