On March 31, 2020, Arlington Mayor Barb Tolbert issued a directive to Arlington business owners to stay home and limit their interactions with others in order to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19); and essential businesses that remain open protect themselves and customers by following CDC guidelines and implementing additional safeguards to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

All essential businesses providing goods and services within the City of Arlington shall follow the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention when conducting essential activities and services.
Clearly post the attached notice to customers/clients at every business entrance.
Restrict employees AND customers/clients showing symptoms of COVID-19 from entering the workplace in a manner consistent with CDC guidelines.
Ensure employees AND customers/clients maintain at least six feet from other people.
Ensure employees AND customer/clients wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds as frequently as possible or use hand sanitizer, cover coughs and sneezes, and do not shake hands.
Take all steps necessary for employees AND customers/clients to conduct business from home to the extent possible.
Perform frequent cleaning of the workspace, especially high touch areas.
All public and private play equipment in common areas shall be closed with notice of closure posted.
