The Arlington High School volleyball team kicked off their season with a win by defeating North Creek in four sets.

Arlington defeated the Bothell-based, 4A KingCo Conference school 25-23, 12-25, 25-19 and 25-16.

“I am very proud of the girls. They played well as a team,” Arlington head coach Kelly Pederson said.

Taylor Pederson had three aces, 16 assists, three digs and five kills. Brookelynn Ramey had 18 assists, 10 digs and one ace, and Malie Shepherd had 13 kills, nine digs, one ace and two blocks. Emily Mekelburg had 15 kills and five digs, Alyssa Hoag had two blocks and one ace, Chloe Lewis had 13 digs and Brooklyn Helle had 10 digs.

The Sept. 7 non-conference matchup was against a larger 4A school. “We showed up not knowing them and they not knowing us,” Pederson said added the team struggled in the second set but adjusted against North Creek’s blockers.
