Are you a Marysville resident who wants to serve your community? The city is accepting applications to fill an opening on the Civil Service Commission.

To apply, submit a letter of interest and resume by Sept. 17 to Teri Lester, Human Resources Manager, City of Marysville, 1049 State Ave., Marysville WA 98270, or by email to [email protected].

The Civil Service Commission is responsible for adopting rules for the regulation of personnel administration within the City of Marysville Police Department. It oversees the recruitment and selection processes including a competitive testing program to determine the qualifications of persons interested in such employment. It meets monthly, at 9:30 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month, at Marysville City Hall.

By state law, Civil Service Commissioners must be U.S. citizens, residents of the City of Marysville for three years, and qualified to vote in Snohomish County. The Commission has three members who are appointed by the Mayor and serve six-year terms. Due to a recent resignation, this appointment will complete an unexpired term ending in March 2022.
