Arlington senior Ethan Martin scored 26 of his 35 points in the first half as the Eagles won 73-53 Feb. 22 over Evergreen of Vancouver.
"I think Ethan Martin is one in a million," Arlington head coach Nick Brown said complimenting the senior's ability to shoot and get to the rim.
The Eagles were competing in a play-in game against Evergreen, who placed seventh in the District 3/4 tournament, to advance to regional play.
Arlington was up by six points after the first quarter and extended their lead to 16 points at half time.
"I was proud of our team cohesion as a unit," Brown said. "We want to hit first and we want to hit last."
Junior David Zachman scored 11 points, senior Trent Nobach scored nine points and senior Luke Brown scored eight points.
After being behind by 22 points at the end of the third quarter, Evergreen started chipping away at Arlington's lead. Momentum changed thanks to Zachman's dunk and free throw that occurred around the half way point of the fourth. Brown said the dunk was a crowd-turner.
The win moves the Eagles to regional competition, which means a trip to Spokane Valley face Ferris at Central Valley High School. Ferris is 16-5 in the Greater Spokane League. Game takes place at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26.
