The Arlington boys basketball team's tournament run ended in regional play Feb. 26 in Spokane Valley. The Eagles lost to Ferris 64-45.

“We just couldn’t hit a shot,” Arlington coach Nick Brown said. Senior Ethan Martin, who has 1,000 points in his high school career, was held to nine points against the Saxons.

Martin had to sit for around five minutes in the second period after earning three fouls.

After the Saxons were up around 20 points, Arlington made a run in the second half to pull with seven or eight points in the third quarter. Browns said Ferris hit two back-to-back three pointers.

“It just killed us,” Brown said. “It really kind of broke us.”

Freshman Leyton Martin came off the bench to score 16 points, Brown said adding that Kaden Davis and Levi Younger helped provide a spark off the bench.

He said he was happy with how the team played, but Arlington just didn't score.

"I wish I could have done better for them," Brown said. "There's a bond there that won't be broken."

Arlington got to regionals through a win over Cascade Feb. 19 in a District 1 tournament consolation game and a victory over Evergreen of Vancouver Feb. 22 in a regional play-in game.
